I stumbled across this press ad a couple of years ago in Canada and it confirms how powerful a brand icon can be. Whenever I show it to my MBAs it raises plenty of smiles. Not just a guardian angel in the coming winter, a guardian angel to the brand.
What’s nice is to see how this makes growing the brand so much easier. Assuming they are related, to expand into new product areas all you have to do is show customers the brand icon again, and you’re straight into the market. With all the positive brand values you’ve been investing in for decades.
