Fucking Hell. Not the sort of thing you’d say to order drinks.
When I first found a German alcohol brand using the F word, albeit in German (Ficken), I did wonder at the time why brands have to deliberately shock the buyer. At least the first example used the German word, and it was legitimate, in the same way FCUK was legitimate when it was registered in the UK even though it was unpopular (with some).
But now using a foreign swear word to promote an average-tasting German product strikes me as a strange strategy and if nothing else, an indication that this golden liquid has nothing else to offer than shock tactics.
Well I guess it’ll get people talking, which is precisely why it’s on this blog.
Whether that’ll make it a long-term success is another question of course. Fuck knows.
