Taking things off customers
By Alex on Aug 18, 2007 in Marketing mishaps
This poster for a Baden-Württemberg bank has a fundamental logical flaw. It states that, “Good advice is give and take”.
Agreed. So, dear bank, what will you give…?
Well, unfortunately the poster continues by saying “WE TAKE…”
Ok, they take time (not the literal translation, indirectly they mean they’re happy “for things to take the time it needs”, so they’ll give it time. But they don’t say that. And anyway, that could sound like they take ages!)
Surely they should be telling me – the potential customer – what they will give (me).
Why not say “Wir geben uns Mühe”, or “Wir investieren viel Zeit”. Or something more positive than a reversal of the concept of give and take.
Back to the drawing board BW. You’re not making the right impression.
