Using feeds/iGoogle/RSS

Quick (2 minutes) and safe way to subscribe to entries, and LOTS MORE. No spam. And very useful if you use Google.

1. Quick solution (if you already use iGoogle): here.

2. Beginners’ guide. How to use iGoogle - and get news and much more on your Google landing page.

i) First register. Go to the Google landing page (if it’s not already your opening page in your browser). Click top right. (I’ve been using iGoogle for ages, promise, you get NO SPAM).

ii) Enter your details (I use a passive web.de account):

iii) Now you can search for any type of news items (from technology news to recipes, you name it!). Follow the instructions and the items are added to your iGoogle landing page (which it makes sense to bookmark).

iv) To add marketing news and updates from this website, use the “Gadgets hinzufügen” as above, then click on the button bottom left:

THAT’S IT!! On the Google desk top you can delete content, or click and drag to different places. I have weather and BBC news on mine. Plus some marketing blogs I follow. Very useful.

3. INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU ALREADY USE iGOOGLE

If you already use iGoogle, you should know how to subscribe. But just to make things easier… at the bottom of each page there is a iGoogle button. Simply click on it and the rest is pretty simple.
